(Rock Hill, S.C.) — With a variety of restaurant options in Rock Hill, there is one small establishment that has caught the attention of many Winthrop University students.
Fresh Vibes Juice Bar, a family-owned restaurant located at 1675 Ebenezer Rd., offers the rare options of vegan and vegetarian food that is available via a drive thru.
“Fresh Vibes is my favorite restaurant in Rock Hill,” said Mahogany Rose, a Winthrop student. “Not only is it a Black-owned business, it’s a fast, healthy option for a lot of college students.”
Fresh Vibes has a second juice bar location on the Winthrop campus, inside the DiGiorgio Campus Center.
Mek McCrorey, the owner of Fresh Vibes, said she tries to help his customers live a healthy lifestyle.
“We aim to provide high-quality, local, fresh, organic and natural foods and products,” McCrorey said. “We offer friendly and knowledgeable customer service, sharing a wealth of information about healthy living. Our team members’ primary focus is educating our customers and the community on the benefits of our menu items.”
Chelsea Moses, an employee at Fresh Vibes, said the restaurant offers healthy food in a family environment.
“The staff really makes sure we have everything we need and are prepared to provide the best service to the customer,” said Moses.
The unique menu items have caught the attention of a number of Winthrop students.
“My favorite item at Fresh Vibes is the ‘ultimate burger.’ Not only is it vegan, but you get the taste and flavor of a real burger,” said Rose.
“I’d say my favorite drink, as cliche as it does sound, is the ‘Winthrop smoothie.’ Personally, strawberries are one of my favorite fruits, so that’s something I would gravitate towards,” Anna Kato, a Winthrop student, said.
“We have hot dogs and all of it is vegan. In the morning we have our sausage biscuits, that is very popular. Everybody gets the sausage biscuit or the croissants and you can add a Beyond Meat (vegan option) to anything on the menu,” said Moses.
