(Rock Hill, S.C.) — The annual Spring Family Carnival has come to the Rock Hill Galleria parking lot, providing many families with a night of games, food and fun.
The carnival features traditional rides and attractions, including a Ferris wheel and carousel.
One popular game is the high striker, which tests a person’s strength and requires the player to swing a large rubber mallet to ring a bell at the top of the attraction.
“Whether you ding it or not, you get a prize,” said Cynthia Pierce, a carnival employee who operates the high striker.
The event, April 18-28, typically attracts guests came from outside of Rock Hill.
Andrew Moore, a resident of Indian Land, said he came to the carnival for the funnel cakes and the mild April weather.
“I just wanted to have a good time and, you know, enjoy the scenery. It’s a nice festivity to have, especially with spring,” said Moore.
A number of parents from Rock Hill said they brought their children, because the city school district was on spring break the week the event opened.
“My favorite part about the carnival is the rides and the fishing. I love to fish. I’m a Pisces,” said Cierra Cornwell, a Rock hill resident, visiting the carnival for the first time.
The Spring Family Carnival will be in Rock Hill until Sunday April 28.
