(Rock Hill, S.C.) — York County has become home to several new craft breweries over the last five years and the county visitors bureau is working to capitalize on the budding brewing community with the promotion of the “YoCo Brew Trail.”

In 2018, there were six micro brewers that were featured on the trail, but now there are at least 14 breweries in York County.

“The sky’s the limit as more breweries come here and people continue to see how amazing the brewery culture here is in York County,” said Mallory Snyder, the head of marketing and communications at Visit York County.

Each of the brewers on the trail offer a unique menu, which officials hope can help to increase tourism in the county.

“I think it’s super great, a super cool idea that’s kind of picking up all over the place,” Brandon Carrol, the manager of the Rock Hill Brewing Company, said. “With us getting more and more breweries, I think it’s a great way to advertise and York County is all community based anyways.”

Nick Robbins, the manager of Off the Tracks Brewing, said the trail has helped to bring the brewing community together.

“It’s been great. Like I said, it’s a great way to link up, it’s a very well knit, very tight woven community,” Robbins said.

He said many of the establishments often collaborate with each other to make unique craft brews.

The trail is free to join and visitors can pick up a YoCo Brew Trail passport at any participating location or the York County Visitor’s Center.

Next, visit at least 10 locations and receive a stamp in the passport at each brewery, which can be redeemed for a YoCo Brew Trail pint glass.

The trail also includes a few other locations, including the Sleeping Giant Distillery, the Windy Hill Orchard and Cider Mill and the Anne Springs Close Greenway Canteen.
